Halo is a concept of the handle presented for the contest promoted by Viefe company in 2014. Viefe is a furniture handles company, which is present in many countries and even IKEA uses its products.

Overview ——

The design of Halo was conceived with the intention of avoiding the bulky forms that furniture handles usually adopt. As a result, the new design proposed to integrate this handle at the level of the furniture surface. Pressing the circular surface at the top, it turns inward while the bottom part goes out. This surface creates a flange that can be used as a handle and, thanks to a pneumatic system inside, once this flange is released, the handle returns to its initial position.

Although the design of “Halo” was not the winner of this contest, the company found this proposal very interesting and innovative.
